Are you approaching retirement?
Maybe you’ve already retired?
The transition can be quite traumatic. Some people long for and love their newfound freedom. However for others, it means struggling with losing what came within a role:
- lack of structure,
- missing good colleagues,
- daily social interaction, and
- goals and purpose.
Perhaps you feel a loss of identity and status? You may even wake up in the morning wondering what to do. Some people tell me that, as an older person, they feel that their voice isn’t heard.
Do any of these resonate with you?
- You’re worried about the prospect of retirement?
- You’ve already retired and feeling a lack of purpose and direction?
- Your day is unstructured and you’re not sure what to do; you feel bored and isolated?
- You notice that, as an older person, people are less inclined to listen to you?
- You need to organise your Life Laundry – you have so much to do to put all your papers/documents in order that it all feels overwhelming?
How can Lucy Seifert, Life Coach London, help?
As a life coach who is also in her Third Age, I have an empathetic and understanding approach to clients experiencing these issues. I have done much to put my own Life Laundry in place and to put in a structure for such time as I retire. (Here are ten tips to start tackling your Life Laundry.)
As a result of our coaching sessions, you can expect to:
- Prepare for retirement, planning ahead to ease the transition
- Design goals that motivate you to enjoy your day, engage in interests & develop new friendships after retirement
- Develop skills of assertiveness to increase your confidence and the power of your voice
- Put things in place, e.g. documents/Power of Attorney, for your future and for those who come after you
- Overall, you can feel more organised, positive and in control of your 3rd age
